For firestopping we start differently for new buildings and 
existing buildings…but end the same, on time and with 
your passive fire protection properly and securely in place.

For new construction projects we:
-Obtain Life Safety plans, full MEP sets and Structural plans. We have to know every 
place a rated floor/wall assembly is going to be penetrated and where all joints are 
going to be located        
-Coordinate with all other trades at pre-construction meetings planning and coordination
For existing buildings we:
-Obtain whatever building plans are available.
-Conduct a Barrier Assessment Survey (BAS) where we survey every linear foot of all 
Fire and Smoke Barriers and digitally document them to develop a detailed analysis 
of all joints, through penetrations and membrane penetrations as well as needs for Barrier remediation.
-Coordinate with key building operations staff to plan the best way to minimize disruptions.
From there the work is the same. 
Our DRI creates a full submittal set using only UL Listed Firestop Systems and 
manufacturer’s Engineering Judgments – NO “field designed” systems!
Our expertly trained tradesmen install each application with a zero tolerance 
mindset.  We fully documented all installations for inspection purposes and 
future maintenance needs.
