FireCon is the first Firestop & Life Safety Specialty Contractor in northern New England. A division of the P.M. MacKay Group, FireCon was founded to meet the deep need for true Zero Tolerance firestopping in the region. Through our association with PM MacKay we are able to bring a true team approach to the full range of NFPA 101 Life Safety issues. In addition to  firestopping FireCon is fully able to address code requirements for egress, exit & emergency lighting, dampered duct inspection and repair, fire & smoke door mandates and fire and smoke barrier wall remediation.

FireCon is directed by Wayne Barrow. A veteran of years of direct manufacturer field experience in firestopping he has successfully passed the UL Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) exam as part of the process to achieve UL’s Qualified Firestop Contractor designation.

Wayne is a Listed Presenter for the International Firestop Council’s (IFC) Inspection Training Program. As such he conducts 2 and 4 hour classes for the Code Enforcement, Fire Service and Architectural communities on Firestopping’s role in Life Safety and how to properly inspect firestopping according to the ASTM E 2784 standard.

His specialized training includes how to apply NFPA 101 to Joint Commission Standards as well as manufacturer training from our vendor partners from which he has become a certified Installation Trainer.
